I’m Seb, your Guild President. I represent you at the highest levels of the University, within the local city council, and even in Parliament, advocating for all causes that matter to students.
You told us the cost of professional clothing was a barrier to taking part in placements, interviews, and formal events. Many felt this limited their access to key employability opportunities and reinforced class-based inequalities.
Seb, University Staff and Societies like the 93% club launched the Working Wardrobe project, creating a scheme that provides free access to smart and professional clothing for students who need it.
You’ll soon be able to borrow or access formal wear on campus, making opportunities like interviews and events more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
You’ll have fewer financial barriers when preparing for employability opportunities, helping you show up with confidence.
We’ll finalise funding, space and supply details, aiming to launch the Working Wardrobe fully in collaboration with students and societies in the new year.
Every win shared here began with feedback from students like you — and every change reflects the impact you’ve made on campus, your course, and your community.
