We have a variety of ways you can volunteer during your time as a student at Exeter. We currently have over 10 student led volunteering projects which you can join, in addition to a number of external opportunities within the local community. Volunteering is an incredibly rewarding experience, so we definitely recommend getting involved!

Ready to sign up to a project? All you need to do is follow the steps below!

1. Sign up as a volunteer via the project page

2. Complete the form here to sign up for the required Safeguarding Module

3. Complete a DBS check if necessary for your project

4. Get in touch with the project leaders to provide your training certificate and DBS certificate (if required)

5. Get volunteering!

DBS INFORMATION

A Disclosure and Barring (DBS) Check is a record of a person’s criminal convictions and cautions, carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service. It’s a requirement for those looking to work with children or vulnerable adults, and the information requested and provided by the applicant is used to determine a person’s suitability for a particular role or project.

1) Check whether the project(s) you want to volunteer on require a DBS check

(You can find this on the project page)

2) If your project requires one, complete the form here.

3) We'll then begin an application for you on our DBS portal, where you'll receive an email asking you to complete further details.

(Please note between completing the form and us uploading the application this can take 2-3 working days)

4) Once you've completed your application on theportal, you need to book in an evidence check online call via the booking form here.

5) At the meeting you’ll need to provide evidence for us to verify your application, you can find guidance on what to bring here.

6) Your application will then be sent to DBS who will email you to confirm once it’s approved.
