I’m Rose, your Communities & Equality Officer. I focus on creating opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds to have an amazing experience that meets their needs.
You told us there needs to be more awareness, support, and understanding around menstrual health - including how it affects wellbeing, attendance, and access to mitigation.
You said period-related challenges weren’t taken seriously enough and wanted clearer information on what support exists.
Rose collaborated with societies like FemSoc to gather student insights and identify key barriers.
They worked with the University to explore ways to increase menstrual health awareness and embed equity in mitigation processes.
We also introduced the Menstrual Health Project in Departmental meetings so reps could collect feedback directly from students.
We’re developing FAQs and online resources to help you find menstrual crisis support and understand your rights in mitigation. We’re also planning awareness events and staff training, ensuring menstrual health is part of broader wellbeing conversations.
You’ll have clearer access to information and support when menstrual health impacts your studies. It’s a step towards normalising conversations about periods and removing stigma, making wellbeing support more inclusive.
We’ll launch the FAQ, host awareness events, and keep pushing for menstrual health equity to be formally recognised in wellbeing and mitigation policies across Terms 2 and 3.
Every win shared here began with feedback from students like you — and every change reflects the impact you’ve made on campus, your course, and your community.
