I’m Max, a Law Department Officer. I collect student feedback from different courses and reps, working with academic staff and the Guild to drive change that benefits everyone in your department.

You told us that getting access to lecture materials too close to class was making it harder to prepare, especially for students with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) or those who need more time to process information.
Without early access, it felt like you were always playing catch-up rather than being able to fully engage in the session.
Max raised this with academic staff and explained how the lack of timely resources was affecting your ability to learn. Thanks to this work, the Department committed to uploading lecture slides and materials at least 24 hours before class, with extra support in place for ILP students who may need even earlier access.
You’ll now have a chance to look over lecture content in advance so you can show up feeling prepared and ready to engage. Whether it’s reading ahead, noting down questions, or just feeling less anxious about what's coming up, this gives you more control over how you learn.
This change helps create a more inclusive and accessible learning environment, especially for those who need extra time to digest information or prefer to prepare in advance. You’ll feel more confident, more in control, and more able to get the most out of every session.
We're looking at how this can be rolled out to more Departments, so more students can benefit from earlier access to resources.
Every win shared here began with feedback from students like you — and every change reflects the impact you’ve made on campus, your course, and your community.
