Sustainability

Being sustainable and looking after our planet is key to reducing the climate emergency. We want to embed sustainability in everything we do at the Guild, and to empower students to create positive change at the University, the local community and wider.

Green Impact

Green Impact is an accreditation scheme for Students’ Unions delivered by SOS-UK, which we have signed up to this year. It aims to address issues around sustainability and social justice through projects and campaigns. We’ll be sharing more information on our progress soon but an example of how we maximized our green impact during our election campaign is below. For our Leadership Elections 2022, we planted a tree for every voter - this means we've planted 4250 trees! We've planted these via Ecologi where the trees are located in the most climate effective locations around the world.
