Being sustainable and looking after our planet is key to reducing the climate emergency. We want to embed sustainability in everything we do at the Guild, and to empower students to create positive change at the University, the local community and wider.
Be the Change Society
Be The Change is a society campaigning for climate justice and sustainability in Exeter.
We provide a supportive space for students to tackle issues we are passionate about, with a focus on climate justice and environmentalism. Being member-led, we are always looking for new projects and welcome anyone with an idea or passion for making change! Previous campaigns we've worked on include the Plant-Based Universities campaign and the £2 Meal Deal in DH2 on Streatham Campus.

Green Impact is an accreditation scheme for Students’ Unions delivered by SOS-UK, which we have signed up to this year. It aims to address issues around sustainability and social justice through projects and campaigns. We’ll be sharing more information on our progress soon but an example of how we maximized our green impact during our election campaign is below. For our Leadership Elections 2022, we planted a tree for every voter - this means we've planted 4250 trees! We've planted these via Ecologi where the trees are located in the most climate effective locations around the world.
