We have an amazing opportunity for you to apply for funding to take new work to Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2024!

The Edinburgh Fringe Fund is a game-changing opportunity for students to bring their creative work to the world-renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024. With 2 generous funds of £5k, donated by an alumnus, the Edinburgh Fringe Fund aims to support aspiring student groups in the fields of theatre, music, or comedy. We hope this fund can help to provide students with the means to realise their passions and showcase their talents on an international stage.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Showcasing work in fields of music, theatre or comedy
  • Must be applying on behalf of a society

CRITERIA

Applicants will be asked to complete a short application form containing the following:

  • Overview of production
  • Answer what attending the Fringe Festival will do for you/your society in terms of progression and experience
  • How many people will this impact/benefit (must impact a minimum of 5 people)
  • Attach budget (template provided by Guild)
  • Attach timeline (template provided by Guild)
  • Any support you may need from the Guild
  • State how the project aligns with the Guild’s priorities (Sustainability, Cost of Living, Belonging & Inclusion, Gender Safety, Wellbeing)

APPLICATION PROCESS

You can send the following:

  • A written application (including the information above)
  • A video application (including the information above)
  • Students groups will also be offered the opportunity to perform a short snippet of their performance to the panel to strengthen application (if they have something prepared at this stage)

TIMELINE

  • Applications open –  6 October
  • Applications close – 27 October
  • Applications shortlisting – November
  • Informal discussion with societies if needed to make final decision – November
  • Applicants notified – December
  • Initial meeting – January
  • Funding provided – January (end)
  • Check in 1– May
  • Check in 2 – June
  • Delivery – August
  • Report – September
