music

At Exeter we have a thriving music community! With a broad range of societies, performance opportunities and music practice facilities, there are so many ways you can continue to pursue your musical interests or try something new!

Got a question? Drop us a message at music@exeterguild.com or book a drop-in.

our music community

We have over twenty student-led, registered music groups here at the University of Exeter, catering for a vast range of talents, genres, preferences, and styles Some of our music societies are auditioned, whilst others aren’t, meaning there is truly something for everyone to get involved in!

Joining a society allows you to rehearse with your chosen society/societies and participate in society-specific social activities. You can check out our groups here.

In addition to this, we have a community of over 300 Music Members here at Exeter. Many of our members take part in a range of music performance opportunities available across the year.

music tuition

As part of purchasing a Music Membership, you will get access to our list of approved Music Tutors. Our instrumental tutors are experienced and come highly recommended, with many having taught at the University for a number of years.

If we do not currently have a tutor for your particular instrument, please get in touch and we can help you to find one.

Additionally, we offer a Music Tuition Scheme to support students financially so that all can receive musical tuition. Applications open in September of each academic year.

Music Tuition Scheme

The Music Tuition Scheme is a fantastic opportunity to receive up to 10 music tuition lessons funded by the Guild! Any student can apply, regardless of ability/level. Successful applicants also receive free Music Membership for the year!

Applications have closed for this year, and will re-open in Term 1 of the next academic year (2023/24).
