Celebrating LGBTQ+ History and Empowering Our Community

Every February, we celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month. This year’s theme, Science and Innovation, highlights the LGBTQ+ people whose ideas, discoveries, and leadership have shaped our world. Throughout the month,we aim to build understanding, acceptance, and allyship across our campuses and the Students’ Guild through our events, networks, and communities.

Support

We’re here to support you throughout your uni experience – whether that's to provide safe spaces, staff support or the resources to make an event or campaign come to life.

Need Support?

We’ve compiled a list of helpful links to organizations and services dedicated to helping, guidance, and information for when you need additional support.

We recognize that every student group may experience and approach activism differently, and it’s important to ensure all voices are represented in this campaign.

Beyond LGBTQ+ History Month

Activism doesn’t end after 16 days: it’s an ongoing commitment to fostering a safer, more inclusive world. Beyond this campaign, you can continue to make a difference by staying informed, speaking out against harmful behaviours, and supporting those around you. Being an ally means actively listening, educating yourself and others, and advocating for change in both big and small ways.

Whether it’s joining local initiatives, attending workshops, or simply engaging in conversations about these issues, every action counts. Together, we can build a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and safe.
