We’re here to help over 30,000 students at the University of Exeter love their time at University. As an independent charity, we’re all about championing students’ voices and making a real difference to their experience, whether that’s through events, support, societies, or campaigning for change.

Student Roles

At the Guild, students don’t just support what we do, they shape it. From reception staff, to content creators, data crunchers, EDI consultants and student reps, we employ over 70 students in a whole range of roles and teams.

We offer both hourly weekly contracts and ad hoc paid opportunities to get involved.

  • Flexible shifts: Your studies come first. We ensure you can fit your shifts around your lectures and important course deadlines.

  • Great pay: We pay above the living wage at £14.12 an hour or provide a voucher to spend at 100s of shops as a thank you for your time!

  • Skills development: Build confidence, real workplace experience and strengthen your CV.

  • Real responsibility: We trust you take the lead, bring ideas and shape what we do.

  • Supportive team: You’ll be part of a fun, inclusive workplace where your wellbeing matters and your voice is heard

Equalities Part-Time Officer x2

You’ll champion social justice and equity across our community, making sure every student feels seen, heard and supported to thrive. You’ll amplify lived experiences, challenge inequality and work with students and staff to remove barriers for underrepresented groups - building a more inclusive student experience for all. Faculty Part-Time Officer x9 (3 per Faculty)

You’ll represent students in your faculty and tackle the big issues affecting your education. You’ll connect student feedback with senior University leaders, make sure student voices shape academic decisions, and work with Department Officers to improve the learning experience across your faculty. Apply by 10am on Monday 2 March.

International Students Part-Time Officer x2

You’ll represent and champion our global student community, making sure international voices shape life at Exeter. You’ll work with students, the Guild and the University to break down barriers, support international students to tackle challenges, and help create a more inclusive experience for everyone. Apply by 10am on Monday 2 March.

Societies Part-Time Officer x2

You’ll represent and champion nearly 300 student-led societies, making sure they have what they need to thrive. You’ll work with society leaders and Guild staff to tackle challenges, improve support, and ensure societies have a strong voice in shaping their student experience. Apply by 10am on Monday 2 March.

St Luke's Part-Time Officer x4

You’ll champion the St Luke’s campus and help build a vibrant, inclusive community for everyone based there. You’ll connect students with the Guild and University, making sure St Luke’s voices shape campus decisions and that every student feels heard, supported and represented. Apply by 10am on Monday 2 March.

Student Living Part-Time Officer x4

You’ll represent students on the issues that shape life beyond the classroom - from housing and wellbeing to affordable transport. You’ll create opportunities for students to speak up, influence local and University decision-makers, and make sure student needs come first where it matters most. Apply by 10am on Monday 2 March

Sustainability Part-Time Officer x2

You’ll champion environmental justice and keep student voices at the heart of climate action on and off campus. You’ll shape sustainable policy, lead green campaigns, and work with the Guild and University to drive real change - empowering students to build a more sustainable future. Apply by 10am on Monday 2 March.

Department Officer (VOLUNTEER)

You'll work alongside Full and Part-Time Officers and University Department staff to facilitate student voice and improve students experience. You'll use student data and insights to shape new ideas and policies, challenge processes, and promote opportunities for students to share their feedback. Apply by Monday 9 March at 09:00.
