Over the past two years, we've evolved our representation model, so more students are represented, more voices are heard, and more students have the opportunity to get involved - whether that’s sharing your views or becoming a rep yourself.
We help make sure their voices are impossible to ignore. Here’s what that looks like.
Through surveys, one-to-one conversations, societies, and meetings, your voice shapes what we do and influences the decisions the University makes.
Every conversation starts with a student speaking up. This could be something affecting your course, your department, your campus, or student life more broadly. Whether it's a quick piece of feedback, a recurring issue, or an idea for improvement, your reps are here to listen and act.
Academic Reps and Department Officers work closely with students to understand what's happening on the ground. They review concerns, spot common themes, and identify issues that need attention.
Many issues can be solved at a course, department, or faculty level. Academic Reps and Department Officers work directly with academic staff and University teams to improve things like teaching, assessments, communication, and the student experience.
When issues affect larger groups of students, Part-Time and Full-Time Officers utilise their networks to amplify concerns to senior University leaders, Guild staff, and decision-makers to champion student priorities and push for wider, lasting change.
