Work for the guild

Thanks for your interest in working with us!

There’s never been a more exciting time to join Exeter Students’ Guild as we enter our new 5-year strategy period!

We’re here to help over 30,000 students at the University of Exeter love their time at University. As an independent charity, we’re all about championing students’ voices and making a real difference to their experience, whether that’s through events, support, societies, or campaigning for change.

Career Staff

Our career staff are the dedicated professionals who keep things running behind the scenes all year round. Our career team brings long-term expertise, stability and support to everything we do. They’re a big part of how we deliver on our mission to empower and support students every day.

Why work for us?

Finance Trustee

Exeter Students’ Guild is looking for a passionate and experienced External Finance Trustee to join our Board and help shape the future of our student-led organisation. Trustees play a key part in making sure the Students’ Guild runs well and stays true to its purpose. As a Trustee, you’ll help set the Guild’s direction, support and challenge senior staff, and make sure we’re using our resources responsibly and operating within the law.

Student Roles

At the Guild, students don’t just support what we do, they shape it. From reception staff, to content creators, data crunchers, EDI consultants and student reps, we employ over 70 students in a whole range of roles and teams.

We offer both hourly weekly contracts and ad hoc paid opportunities to get involved.

  • Flexible shifts: Your studies come first. We ensure you can fit your shifts around your lectures and important course deadlines.

  • Great pay: We pay above the living wage at £14.12 an hour or provide a voucher to spend at 100s of shops as a thank you for your time!

  • Skills development: Build confidence, real workplace experience and strengthen your CV.

  • Real responsibility: We trust you take the lead, bring ideas and shape what we do.

  • Supportive team: You’ll be part of a fun, inclusive workplace where your wellbeing matters and your voice is heard

  • Make a difference: The work you do helps improve student life for yourself and others.
