World Cup 2022

With the World Cup starting this week, we wanted to issue a statement to let students know that the values surrounding the World Cup do not align with those of the Students' Guild. We wholeheartedly stand for the rights of all people within marginalised communities, including women, migrant workers, and the LGBTQ+ community.

However, we're also aware of the celebratory nature of this event and there will be many students who want to watch the event to support their country and share their love of football with others.

We will be hosting a safe, inclusive, alcohol-free space for all students to enjoy the matches. There will be a limited amounts of seats available for each match, so please book your free tickets in advance.

We want to use this opportunity to support causes that do align with our values, so although tickets are free, Amnesty International will be there if you wish to make a donation.

All matches will be shown in the M&D room (Devonshire House, Streatham Campus) apart from the England v Wales match which will be shown in Newman Green LT (Peter Chalk Centre, Streatham Campus).
