We are passionate about seeing every student flourish during their time at Exeter and we are determined to see that our Disabled Students have access to every support, resource, and adjustment they need to do just that. We know that Exeter can be a very inaccessible place for those with any disability.
As your Students’ Guild, we are continuing to push the University to do more to be proactively accessible by how it adapts spaces, designs processes and organises events. We’ll be updating this page with the progress we make, and how you can get involved.
Have an idea for a campaign? Talk to us and let’s see what we can do!

Exeter has a number of different communities led by and for Disabled Students:
We also have groups with the Accessibility Badge, Inclusivity Badge, and the Diversity Badge. The University also has the Disabled and Chronically Ill Network for staff and students.
Here are some local services and support options for Disabled Students.
Contact peersupport@exeter.ac.uk (Academic Skills and Student Engagement Team) if you’re interested in the Disabled Student Peer Scheme or the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Peer Scheme. Support is pastoral and sees upper year students using their lived experiences to support first year students. If you have an idea for a new peer support scheme, contact ASSET.
The Wellbeing Service’s guidance on declaring your disability, funding through Disabled Students’ Allowances, and DSA support agreement forms.
Talk to the Community Representation Team who can work with you and your Officers to campaign for solutions for your community’s experience at university – whether you need small adjustments or systemic changes!
NUS Liberation Conference
This year’s Liberation Conference will be a high-energy, impactful campaigning space - moving away from reacting to the symptoms, and going after the root causes instead.
