BUYING ONLINE

When making a purchase from or via University of Exeter Students’ Guild for any product, including joining clubs and societies(membership fees), payments will be processed through Stripe (UK). All payments are made to University of Exeter Students’ Guild and will appear on your bill as "Exeter Guild or ExeGuild"

University of Exeter Students’ Guild does not store credit card details and uses industry standard SSL encryption to ensure the safety of your data.

All payments are made in a live environment - upon clicking 'Pay Now', your credit or debit card will be billed with the agreed amount and your order will be immediately processed.

These terms shall be governed by English law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. Nothing in these terms shall exclude liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.

DELIVERY POLICY

Goods sold by Student Groups and Societies will usually be offered for collection, details of which will be provided at time of ordering. Any enquiries relating to items ordered from Student Groups and Societies should be directed to the relevant committee member as detailed on their Guild Profile Page. Further information is available from Student Activities. 

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of University of Exeter Students’ Guild student groups is available to current registered students and Associate Members. Memberships will be valid until the 31 July of each year (included), regardless of when it was purchased during the academic year.

During student group activity, members are expected to observe the policies and regulations of University of Exeter Students' Guild and are subject to the Students’ Guild and University disciplinary procedures.

UNDER 18 MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the following student groups is limited to those who are over 18 only.

  • Poker Society
  • Real Ale Society
  • Cocktail Society

This list may be amended at any point by University of Exeter Students’ Guild without notice. Where this results in the termination of a membership, a pro-rata refund of the remaining membership will be issued upon request.

REFUNDS

A cooling off period of four weeks from the start of the autumn term is provided to ensure individuals are comfortable with groups that they have joined. During this time a full refund will be issued through the Activities team. After the four week cooling off period refunds must be agreed by the student group committee and may be issued pro-rata to the amount of the membership year remaining and less any costs incurred in the issuing of the refund.

WEBSITE USE

DELIBERATE ABUSE AND / OR MISUSE OF THE PORTAL

Any attempt to circumvent or manipulate your access rights to the Membership System will be treated as a disciplinary offence and treated in accordance with the University of Exeter Students’ Guild's disciplinary procedures. Your access to the Guild’s digital platforms is granted to you as an individual and your login details should be treated as strictly private and confidential. It is a disciplinary offence to share your access details with other users. Should you suspect that your account is being used by another person, you should change your password immediately.

USE OF STUDENT GROUP WEBSITE ADMIN FEATURES

As a result of your position within the University of Exeter Students’ Guild you may be granted access to additional features for the sole purpose of administering your group and group business. Use of these facilities for non group business may result in these features being withdrawn and if appropriate further disciplinary or legal action

Data is provided for the explicit purpose of group business and should not be extracted from the system or shared with third parties without express permission of the Activities Manager.

The email system is provided for the distribution of messages relating to society business and should not be used for other purposes, including distribution of solely marketing messages from third parties. Where this is required as part of a sponsorship agreement with a third party this should be approved by the Sales Manager. The content of emails should be of an acceptable nature as outlined elsewhere in the acceptable use policy.
